Default Offset 45 maximum??

I was going to get a wheel set with 18x7.5 5x114.3 offset 42

but i found out that I can't put it on my mazda 6

What I saw is I can only put offset 45 or higher...

Is it true?

Depends on the tire width you want... you could put some nice 195mm wide tires on those rims :-)

I'd be nervous about anything less than 50mm, honestly. The stock 17's have a whopping 60mm offset!

I have the 17x7.5 with 225/45 ET=48+. No Problem.
And there are more space to fit. I think the ET=45mm will be ok with my measures
But the 18 will be so close to the fenders and with ET=42mm more to worry. With the 18 you will need as leat a 40 and no dropping car as least you roll the fenders

I think that with both will be ok 215/35 and 225/40 with 18x7.5 5x114.3 offset 45 wheel. I little out but ok. Maybe the problem with the 225 will be if you carry weigh on the back seat/trunk
Only an oppinion
