Default Exel Wheels on wheelmax.com

Does any one own Exel wheels? If you do how are they as far as quality and weight? If you don't personally own them but know someone who does, what do they say about them? Lastly, I have heard terrible reviews about wheelmax.com can any one speak from a personal experience? Thanks.

I'll let you know. Despite the bad reviews, I went ahead and ordered from Wheelmax. I placed the order on Sept 1st, and supposedly they are on their way via UPS Ground. I wasn't impressed with their Sales; they gave me bad advice on two items: First, when I asked about offset on the wheels I wanted they told me that "these will be perfect, with wider wheels you WANT a lower offset", when really, you want the same offset or higher, and secondly they didn't have the size tires I wanted and tried to sell me a slightly lower profile tire, telling me it was closer to the correct rolling diameter than what it actually is. BUT, since I knew the real facts before hand I just didn't worry about it and placed the order. I got the feeling that those guys are just going to tell you whatever you want to hear to make the sale, so check your facts before you call them. I'll let you know when I receive the wheels; the first thing I'm going to do is weigh them because I'm a little dubious of the number WheelMax gave me. I got the Exel 10-spoke wheel (FZ-10?) in the 17x7 size (not actually wider than stock in the first place), which according to WM have an offset of 45 and weigh 17.5 lbs each.

I ordered the same exact ones, they are tz-10s but i ordered silver and they sent me gunmetal saying i never ordered silver and then they are trying to make me pay 100 plus shipping to send them back to exchange for the silver. I'm sticking with the gunmetal so i dont lose the 100 plus they done look half bac on the lapis blue anyway.

Also, to any1 that will order from WHEELMAX in the future make sure you get some kind of document either an email or fax stating CORRECTLY what you ordered so you dont get screwed like I did. Personally, i think they were out of silver and sent me gunmetal instead, but i have no way to prove that i orederd silver. Hope every1 reads this and is aware of what to do from now on when you order anything online.

Now you've got ME worried. UPS tried to deliver mine today, but I wasn't home so I'll go pick them up tomorrow. They are supposed to be SILVER 17's, and I will be one angry man if they are some other color. I know MrTea ordered white 18's and received silver, and the fact that TheForest316 got the wrong color too doesn't bode well for me. Forest - were those 17's or 18's?? I'll let you know tomorrow morning if the wheels are the right color / weight / offset that I ordered. If not, is anyone here a lawyer? Or married to a laywer?? Or the punk-ass kid of a laywer??? :)

i believe forest went with the 17's so he didn't have to roll the fenders like me.

WooHoo!! I got silver, just like I ordered. The offset is 45 as promised, and I weighed a wheel while there at UPS and it came in at 16.9lbs - a little better than the 17.5lb figure that WheelMax gave me. Overall, I'm impressed with the quality; the packaging was excellent and the paint quality is good-to-great: there are a couple very minor imperfections in each wheel which might have upset me if I'd paid $300 per, but isn't going to bother me at all at the $115 price. I'm not going to be able to get the tires mounted, balanced, and installed until tomorrow, but so far my WheelMax experience has been great (except for the dubious fitment advice given during my initial call.)

What tires(size) are you getting with your 17's? And did wheelmax supply you with hubcentric rings or did the wheels fit perfectly on your 6? I'm thinking of ordering some from them becuase they are so cheap.

Post some pics up too bossman and whoever else has Exel's. Thanks.
