Okay, so we have all these Scandanavians getting their 6's, so I was curious how it was doing in the snow.

No snow here yet... I would have to drive 100km to north and there would be snow, southern coastline always gets the snow much later - if ever... And it can look kind of dull in winter without snow. :/
Maybe Steve has some snow? |

I was try Mazda6 on snow and ice althoug I live several hundreds km south of
Finland. Put the winter tyres on and enjoyed it! TCS+DSC work nicely on slippery surfaces. Except quick start in the first gear with front wheels turned to one side - when one wheels loses the grip the system is unable to solve the situation smoothly. But the snow period was quite short so is my report. |

Well, I've been driving on snow all day. Even pushed it around some corners.
It's doing great. The TCS/DSC jumps in very smooth and help whenever necessary. Like all FWD cars, Mazda6 is eager to loosen its rear if you let go of the gas in the middle of a curve. There are no surprises driving it on a winter road. It communicates with the driver. What you think it will do when you act, it does. And those brakes are very good. I understand why it got such good criticism. The heat is good too, and the seat heaters are very quick and powerful. All in all - it rocks. As expected!:D |

Thanks Steve, really good news for me. :)
So far all the tests have been made in summer, so I didn't have any news on how it works in winter... Now Steve gave us a good view on that. Later this winter there will be some independent magazines testing many different cars (as every year) in Lapland, I believe Mazda6 will be there too. I will tell more after there is anything to tell. |
