Hey guys,
Does anyone know the cost of new remote door opener? Mine broke after 6 years of heavy use. Oringinally, I thought the battery. But it still doesn't work after replacing it. Now I'm using my second remote. Should I just use the second one and not replace one? Can I still turn off the alarm using key? Also, can I buy jack-knife style remote/key and use it with my '04 Mazda6? Thanks,

Don't think the Jack-knife one's work with the 6, but I've seen the remotes cheap on ebay. You just have to program it yourself.. which if a dealership is nice to you will do it for free. You could do it yourself, but you need 2 working remotes... and since you only have 1 working, you'd be hooped.

oh well.. I will just live with one remote for now.
I did search ebay and found quite a number of seller with reasonable price. I might get new remotes later. :P I don't really need a backup remote. Thanks,

By jack-knife style, you mean the ones that come with the 06+ models? They will work for older models, you just have to get it cut and programmed. They cost $300 from the dealer cut and programmed. If you just want a blank one and get it cut and try to somehow program it yourself, I think it's something like $90.
