Steering wheel vibration - Changed the front tires. Tire shop told me that one front and one rear alloy wheel has little ding and that is the reason your steering wheel vibrates at high speed. I asked him can you put the alloy rimwithout ding on the front and ding one on the rear but he suggested that lets put it on right side and there will be less vibration. Any suggestions that putting the alloy rim without ding on the front will fix the problem

Are these stock rims or are they aftermarket rims? If they are aftermarket rims, the vibration problem could be from the wheel not being centered correctly. Hubcentric rings are critical here. They must fit tightly in the wheel and on the hub or vibration problem are sure to come up.

Typically, nobody wants to admit if they do something wrong. I would say there is a good chance that the shop just didn't balance one of the tires correctly (or a weight fell off). I had two full sized spares (from my Jetta & my daughter's) mounted on alloy rims last November when I put my snow tires on. When I put them on a few weeks ago I had the same problem (steering wheel vibration > 65 MPH). I took them back & had them rebalanced and the problem went away.
