hey so i just bought a bunch of stuff my 6s including a brembo brake kit and when i ordered it the seller and the manufacturer couldn't tell me if they would fit without a wheel spacer or if i needed different rims, etc... i searched and was unable to come across whether or not they will fit the stock 2004 rims without hitting the spokes so if anyone could help it would be muchly appreciated, thanks
also if they won't fit then what size spacer is required or would stock RX-8 rims clear them? |

I'm 99% sure they will not fit. I have a template guide around here. Will post it when I find it.
Here is a link to a write up I did on how to check clearance on another board: http://www.fordfusionclub.com/index.php?topic=132521.0

no chance those are fitting stock rims, here's a link for the cross section drawings. take off your wheel and take some measurements, that will tell you how large of a spacer you'll need.
i would say that a BBK is a bit overkill if you are still running OE wheels. getting some good, lighter wheels will make much more of an impact than putting a brake kit on. unless you are currently fading your brakes, i'd say wheels should be first anyhow (but if the BBK is still in your thoughts, keep that in mind when sizing wheels). http://www.racetechnologies.com/images/pro...s/1A4.6005A.pdf

a couple things to point out...
-find more often then not that when printed the printer does not print to correct scale, so it is important to measure after it is printed to ensure the correct size is cut out. People have damaged wheels and callipers by not doing this. -best practice. find out what your wheel bore is for the wheels being measured, plot that onto the bottom of the diagram before cutting it out so the center of the wheel bore is where the diagram base ends. no cut an inch or so out for the wheel bore so when measureing the wheel, the extended part goes into the wheel bore perfectly, so you you are not eyeballing the center as you measure. hope that made sense, i've measure many wheels, and it's the only way i do it now. also, a hard paper or cardboard can help as well (or taping to a small ruler) for rigidity.

Also, if you're going to run any more than a 5mm spacer (and even with the 5mm one), you'll need to run extended wheel studs.
I'm using ARP's 2.5 inch late model GM studs all around and I've had zero issues.

alright so i measured everything and they wont fit... by a lot.... lol i would need to run like a 10-12 mm spacer, which would be rediculous, so i'm not going to of course
does anyone have RX-8 wheels that would be willing to measure them to see if they would fit? |
