i would check with Rotora, as they are "typically" first to market on new models. Brembo is planning on it, but just hasn't had a car in for measurements yet. I haven't seen anything from Stop Tech yet listed, but you might want to call and find out.

If you do some research and decide which one you wanted and it happened to be Brembo, talk to one of our Vendors and have them call them up, it will help push the car coming in to measure i'm sure if someone is commiting to buy one. I think i have a local guy who said he'd let us use hit car, so it's just a matter of "needing" to measure the car.

I know Wilwood wasn't interested at the time and the sema build was from a modified app for another vehicle. What is the hold up on Brembo measurements? They could use my car if that is what is delaying a bbk app for the car...like we spoke about months ago. I'll try to swing by Rotora this week.

well at this point, there isn't any interest shown for the 08+ model....so other cars that have orders/interest pending are going first. That's why i said if he wants the Brembo kit to contact a vendor and let them know, and they will in turn talk to Brembo about a pending order.

you are usually better off calling/emailing companies before you stop by, just a heads up.

You got to know who to talk to....

The first BBK application for an '09. I'll give a full write-up when they're broken in, but so far they're stunning to say the least. It should be released in the near future.

hey, i did thier test fitment for the 1st gen, i know exactly who to talk to....but working at a business, a heads up call works wonders.

There's a reason i said to hit them up you know. They are typically first to market as they don't have as many options to use when making a kit, so it's easier to just get something that works. Some of the other companies do a bit more leg work when it comes to Brake Kit Design, and unless they found all parts were exactly the same (which i heard they might be), there's no way in hell there would be parts on the car the same day someone drove it just asking about it.

again, if there is a market for it, you will see others come on board, but i have not heard of anyone confirmed to drop money on a kit for the new model yet.

....BUT let me just say the clearing the stockers either mean 1) the kit does not use the same parts 2)the new stockers have amazing clearance over the old ones!

haha, no, that won't be happening.

The only brake company that might even think about that is Rotora, so you can ask them what they can do. But "typically" you'd need at least a 14" rotor to fit the radious of a 6 piston caliper, all the existing kits are currently right at 13". So they'd be increasing disc size by an inch, which would require some really small pistons to keep brake torque anywhere near stock if at all possible.....PLUS, that would mean you'd need to typically run 19's for clearance, so some really good 18's.

The kit is not the same. The 2nd gen had some differences from the 1st gen. The wheels had need to be bumped out about 1mm for clearance with the oem 18's. I don't know how the oem 17's would tolerate it.

I'm new to the Mazda 6 applications, but I grew up in this industry.

their system on the 1st gen didn't clear any Mazda wheels (reg or speed, 16-18"), unless you ran like a 10-15mm spacer. so again, either the new 18 is a super great wheel, or they had more room to move the disc back into the suspension which helps for clearance a lot.

Again, there would be no way i'd imagine Brembo or Stoptech to punch out a kit within hours of first seeing the car...that's just crazy as it takes me about 2-4 hours to pull the parts apart to get all the measurements on everything for a front kit. Given it's all new parts as you say, they means they just made the parts real quick in the back?

When i went there back in '04/05, they had recieved measurements for a JDM car and had parts ready but needed a test fitment, perhaps that's what happened here? i would feel a lot better about things if that were the case.

and just to show the love...still one of my fav pics
