OK GUYS,

After some bumps, this sale is BACK ON.

We have contracted a machine shop in the silicon valley that does high tech fabrication and convinced them to machine out the hub-bore on these wheels from 66.1 -> 67.1 on their 5-axis CNC machines . Cost to us is $100/set. Cost to you is NOTHING!

SO HERE GOES:

Genuine Rays / Gramlite 57F 18x8.5 Wheels (Silver)

The Volk 57F is manufactured by world-famous wheel manufacturer Rays Wheels Japan. One of the first companies to pioneer cold-forging wheel technology, Rays Wheels are exceptionally high quality wheels. Rays wheels are used by car manufacturers for their high-end sports cars, such as the Skyline GT-R, Subaru STI, 350Z Track edition, etc.

The 57F is a premium cold forged wheel manufactured from this cold forging technology. In 18x8.5 the wheels weigh in at a feather-light 17.8lbs without compromising strength. There are many 800+HP cars running the 57F forged wheels. Even on these big torque/ big horsepower applications there are no cracking or separation issues as seen recently with some other “name brand” wheels costing many times more.

Don’t confuse the 57F wheel with your typical made-in-china or made-in-philippines sand or gravity cast aluminum wheel. The Rays 57-Forged wheels are comparable in quality to wheels costing over $5000, and are simply a steal at the prices we are offering them at.

Size Available: 18x8.5
Bolt Pattern: 5x114.3
Offset: +45
Bore: <strike>66mm</strike> 67.1mm
Color: Silver
Lugs & Caps included

MSRP: $1999
GRUPPE-S: $999 SHIPPED!!

Custom colors available: Gold, Gunmetal, Diamond Black (add $200). Time attack colors available (please call).

Please contact us with any additional questions or to order. Remember you MUST mention this ad!

Thanks!!!

Hi,

Yes, we have received the bored wheels back. The boring process was very clean and straight forward. We are waiting for a Mazdaspeed 6 to arrive next week to get the wheels on and to make sure everything is good.

That said the offset is already good, the bore is good, and the size is good!

Cheers,

Gary

Hey guys,

I want to thank Dave for making the trek down to allow us to borrow his car. He will be testing these wheels on a 235/40/18 tire and letting me know how the performance is and if there is any rubbing. Here's his brand new Speed 6:

Thanks

Gary

On your website, I noticed the wheels are listed as being 16.8 lbs. Is that a typographical error?

17.8 lbs is already very light; I would be astounded if the wheels were actually a pound lighter than that

Hi, yes thanks for noticing that. That is an error, the wheels weigh in 17.8 lbs. It is a cold forged wheel and is very light, but not 16.8lbs light.

Thanks,

Gary

What did you discover with the 235's if the car is lowered an inch or so?? And how long is this running?

EDIT: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VOLK-RACING...6QQcmdZViewItem You've been price matched or is this Gruppe-S?

I talked with Gary today to place my order. I think he said that Dave (the guy with the velocity red MS6 above doing the "test fit") said that there was some slight rubbing with a full load in the back. I'll be rolling/shaving the rears for sure.

those are $1300 plus $100 shipping for some gray/silver color - not sure exactly since the pics are inside. Also, those on ebay have a 66.1mm centerbore, so they won't fit the 6. so no, not quite price-matched. $1200 custom color/custom centerbore shipped is still better at www.gruppe-s.com

Is Dave a user on this forum? I would love to ask him some questions. I wanted to know if he is already rolled. From what I have researched, the fenders are going to need more than rolled. I hope I am wrong. I don't feel good about cutting my fenders to get a great deal on a good set of wheels. I also wanted to hear if there was rubbing up front if you have the wheel turned the entire way. And what size tires can one get away with minimal body modifications. Basically, I would rather have these wheels in 8 inch width and a +50 offset but I think the look of the 8.5s will be nicer. Somebody give us the details. Will they fit without rolling? Are we going to have to roll the hell out of them and still have slight rubbing? Am I going to have to get some crazy spring rates to keep the car from squatting in the back if I have weight in the back.

I am glad that somebody is test fitting these wheels. I am overly excited to hear back how from Dave on how this is going.
