Currently my car bogs down and sounds like the drivetrain is binding up, when starting from a stand still with the wheel cranked all the way to the right while driving really slow.

Has anyone has this issue before or know what could be wrong? I just had one of the seals on the right rear axle replaced cause it was leaking.

Thanks

Whoever replaced the seal likely didn't put the correct fluid back in the rear differential. What you're experiencing is LSD clutch binding / chatter. Either replace the oil with one designed for a LSD rear end or add some LSD friction modifier to it.

Sounds like normal to me. There is even an old TSB to explain that it is common in RWD with a clutch-type LSD.

Yeah I would agree that it would be normal if it did it going both ways, but it only does it turning right.

Oh, I didn't get that part. Hmmm, then the only other thing I can think of is the total front wheel turning angle is off to one side and the wheels are turning further to the right causes a bit of drag. When turned too far, the Ackerman angle (different turning radius for each front tire) is severe and the inside tire is scrubbed sideways....

I am assuming (yes I know crazy right) that your car didn't do this before the repair. If so I would go back to where ever you had it done and say some thing. I would try a fluid replacement as per BlackCherry's suggestion and then look into adjusting the turning angle as FORZDA suggested.

[noob] is adjusting the turning angle possible? how? [/noob]

Yes, by centering the steering rack and setting the toe properly..., or repositioning the front subframe.... It could be that the shop disaasembled the rear suspension to get the axle out and screwed up the install and left a severe crab angle in the rear which would throw the front off. All pretty easy to recognize though. I still think the OP is feeling normal ops.

I think I would have noticed this before I brought it in for the repair but I'm not sure. This issue could have been there before because I don't normal drive in really tight circles. The only reason I did that was because when I got the car back from the repair one of my tires was really low so this caused my traction control to go off when turning. So after they fixed the tire I tested it again and it did what I explained in the op.

Thanks for the info, The car is currently at the dealership that replaced the seal they we'll see what they say.

The tech that was working on my car told me that they did disasemble the rear suspension.

They just called me and said it was the fluid they put in that was causing it. The tech replaced it with a synthetic and said it went away. Hopefully that's it.
