quick question: has anyone tried putting on new lug nuts onto their stock wheels or optional rays forged wheels? i was looking at some red anodized rays lug nuts, and they were sure to add a disclaimer that the lugs were made especially for aftermarket wheels because they were "tapered at the bottom" or something. i can't afford the mazdaspeed rays forged wheels yet, so im trying to do something on the cheap to help the car look decent in the meantime...im thinking black painted stock snowflakes with red anozided lugs would contrast nicely and not be too ricey. so has anyone used aftermarket lightweight lugs on their wheels?

yes, u can put aftermarket lugs on. the stock lug nuts have a conical seat with a 45 degree angle IIRC.

I've got the rays extended lugnuts. When you get them you wont believe how light they are, I think 1 stock lugnut weighs about as much as three or four of the rays lugs..

You obviously don't understand digital. Digital is all ones and zero's. If you have a kink in the cable, because it is made cheaply, then the 0's, being as they are round, can slip around the kink's, but the 1's, having sharp edges, pile up.
No need to look under the hood....

I have a set of black closed end Muteki lugs on my stockers which were about 45 bucks shipped for the set
Evasive Motosports has a great selection of lugs.

here is a quick pic of my Muteki's on my stock rims. I like them waaaaaaaaay better than the chrome stockers and the locking lugs
These are spline drive type and need a special socket to install which comes with the kit so it's a type of security measure in itself. Neat!
