Default Time for a CP-e Stage 2 engine

Well, I finally found out why my MS6 had a KR issue and couldn't tune it out. I developed a rattle sound at moderate load around 2500-3300 rpm. scared I would never rev more after I heard the sound. Sounded like the timing chain hitting the valve cover. Bite the bullet to replace the VVT, timing chain and tensionors. I brought the car to CP-e to re-flash my ECU back to stock for an AP and get the work done.Work done except for ECU (still working that). Mechanic drove the car and said what the hell is that noise. After few weeks of diagnostics, removing the oil pan, removing the cylinder head andstressing the engine to find where the rattling is coming from, Sander and Darren determined cylinder 3 was toast. The car started sounding worse each time they ran it. exhaust started running lean.

Well, they scoped the cylinder found the valve inside. Probably the valve was failing (stuck slightly open), hitting the piston and after numerous runs failed and fell in during one of the diagnostics.

So, CP-e is working with me to build a Stage 2 engine. Going with a short block and stage 2 pistons. I want greater reliability. The head is being serviced, moving over everything my my old engine and dressing up the VC and timing cover with black crinkle. May choose to get a new clutch depending on wear. Getting an AP.

This holiday season is lightening my wallet but bringing a big smile to my face in the new year.

Ugh...sounds exactly like the symptoms my car is exhibiting.
The difference here being I refuse to drop that kind of money on this POS.

Congrats though. Your car ought to be ready to make some powah after your engine upgrades.

The engine stage 2 short block is $6200 orig. I got a discount during the 12 days of X-Mas. I owe CP-e on directed labor for the VVT/timing chain work. I don't know yet but maybe around $10K - $12K. Give or take on ancillary stuff like oil, coolant, refrigerant, gaskets, bolts, clutch and labor. CP-e is working with me trying to keep costs down. Actually, they talked me out of an evolution turbo when it was $999. Was going to buy the LRT manifold but needed to sell my Steedspeed mani.
