Hey guys, I have a completely stock MS6. I took it to the dealer about 6 months ago because of a loud knocking sound you could only hear at idle and while first starting out in 1st gear. Once you're up to about 10 mph you can no longer hear it. The dealer told me that it was the normal sound from the HPFP. It doesn't seem normal to me that the pump would be making that loud of a noise. I could be wrong, but I don't recall hearing it when the car was newer. Could anyone with an MS6 verify that the stock pump is audible over the engine at idle?

If you are truely hearing the HPFP making noise over the injectors clicking at idle, then it(the hpfp) has a problem. If under warranty still, your dealer should cover the replacement.

The car was sadly about 5000 miles out of warranty at the time of my dealer visit. Any idea where I could pick up a stock replacement? All I can find online is the CP-E one. I guess I might have to go through Mazda for the replacement if I plan on installing it myself.

You could get one from Mazda, CPE, etc. but I recommend this one from PTP...
