Exhaust Smoke VIN List - Mazda 6 Forums : Mazda 6 / Mazda Atenza Forum

I wanted to document the VINs of those of us that have the smoke problem. I am NOT asking for the entire VIN. I'm betting it's all the early '06 models. Maybe if we can get a list of vehicles, we can submit this to Mazda and get something done. BTW My dealer is saying that he called Mazda and they told him they have only replaced 1 (one) turbo in the entire US

Guys I need ammunition to use. Also let me know if it has been documented @ your dealership and what the outcome was. If you would like to list there name and phone#, great.

Using the clutch TSB sorting:

Type A Vehicle
(VINs from JM1GG******100001 - 106359)

Type B Vehicle
(VINs from JM1GG******106360 - 107613)

Mine is Type A (early model) VIN ******100191

I have an 06. My VIN is 102982. I have never seen any smoke from my car (knock on wood). And I am debating taking my car in for the clutch replacement.

Smoke for me. It did it again last night, but this time is was just a little. I have had mine at the dealer and of course the car did not smoke for them. They could not replicate it so they did nothing, but it is documented and the service manager said to keep him informed of when it happens. I showed them the video of the white MS6 with the smoke and they still could not figure out the issue. This one seems to have stumped dealers. Is it turbo? Oil? Coolent? I am not sure anyone really knows.

My vin digits are 105124.

On a side note i bought my car in late 12/06, but the plate inside the door says manufactured in 01/06. I think my car sat on the lot for at least 8 months before i bought it.

BUUUUUULLLLL SHIT! Those turbos are on national backorder because they are replacing a crapload of them.

I got a crapload of smoke with the CP-E straight through exhaust on it but I haven't seen any smoke since I put the stock mufflers back up. So I don't know what the issue is exactly. Also, my faux tips in the bumper don't get black anymore either.

My VIN is 103388 and I get excess smoke, too. I have taken it to the dealer but they could not duplicate it. I was hoping it was just the car running rich.

My service record says: "Customer states that there is small puffs of smoke under acceleration. Test drove vehicle 18 miles condensation only when cold as vehicle warmed up could no longer duplicate."

I've seen the smoke but only on the cold mornings. I just figured it was condensation in the exhaust or something. No dealership visit yet but I will mention it when I take it in for the clutch TSB.

+1 for smoke. Its not all the time, but when it does it, it looks like I just cleaned my tires at the track before my drag race with my rocket car. And then it seems to trail off for about 15min afterwards. Not really too happy about this. Anyone know the max mileage they will replace the turbo on? Not feeling too good about this smoke.
