haha ladies and gentlemen here is another installment in my ongoing "book" on parts and reviews.
This time i am reviewing the CP-E engine mount. Damn i should start making a chapter list...so far i've done CP-E intake with bov CP-E catback CP-E Down pipe Apexi- turbo timer Autometer Boost gauge and egt gauge and now the engine mount oh well here goes. :::WARNING::: this mount will not be for everyone. At first look the mount looked just like the stock mount. The stock rubber was replaced with a much more stiffer rubber. HOw much stiffer? lets just say its enough to make my mirror shake as if my radio was turned up loud with the bass maxed out. This shaking only exists in idle, which is why this mount will not be for everyone. Anyway back to the basics. Install is a snap. You remove the two main bolts that hold the mount in, then the 3 bolts that hold the mounting plate for the stock mount. After that it takes a little patience to wiggle out the stock mount. Once thats out then you just replace the stock mount with the aftermarket cp-e mount. bolt everything back on and you are ready to go. At first idle, the vibrations are very rough. When i turn on my AC system it gets even more violent. Just imagine your stereo volume cranked up with the bass and acl maxed out. Then i took it for a drive and...OMFG!!!!!!!!!! I could instantly feel a difference. I kid you not the car really felt a lot torqueier....its thats even a word. I could feel a lot more power at the feels and during accleration. Speaking of accleration, even during hard gear shifts i feel the engine rock less. LIterly the shifting has become so smooth. Then i come back to a stop and i'm reminded the engine mount is a lot stiffer then the stock. I personnaly can deal with the vibrations at idle. Because after driving with the mount and feeling my ass being pushed into my seat, that vibration is worth it. The feeling between shifts is amazing! its the same feeling i had when i had an engine tq damper on previous cars. So to finalize and sum up. Pros : feels more power to the wheels, feels more torquey, shifts are solid with no engine rock, feel more power right after a shift. Cons : vibrations at idle, vibrations even worse when AC is on, definately not a product for everyone. If everyone wants i will post pictures, but its just a simple engine mount so just request it if you want.

And as far as not for everyone... I would disagree. After driving with it for a week or two, you forget it is even there. It is a mod that everyone should do

) and that coupled with a stiffer primary wishbone mount from CPE really sets it apart from what the 6s experiences with its soft "secondary" mounts. Just call me crazy, but if he reccomends that its not for everyone there must be a drastic amount more vibration compared to a 6s, as the 6s' vibration is quite pleasant, not enough to make things rattle. Sorry to go OT, but just wanted to clear up my "noob question" to dabears. Back to the excitment about your guys' new mount review. |

there are people out there who would never get an intake because it makes too much sound, while others dun even notice an intake suction. Its 100% preference. I am just trying to give as much of an unbiased opnion as possible. Frankly i think this mount should be standard on every 6 but that is just my opnion as a performance junkie. but i did this write up to give my opnion on the product and my reactions, but i want to make sure the write ups i do can apply to everyone. So that the end reader can decide whether the part is right for them or not. Simple =D i guess the only thing i can say is, if your in the area i'll let u experiance it first hand ! hope this helps

Hey Seoulful,
Sweet write-up bro. Maybe you really should consider a sort of index for all this writing work you've done -- consider linking to your other threads in your sig. That way, even if the original threads sink well back off the top pages, anytime you post there's a quick link to them. And by the way, I'm certainly interested in what you had to say on the other CP-E gear. |
