Thumbs up

Hey guys,

I have a free week of vacation at work, and prices seem to be low for travel because of the economy.

I'm driving from Baltimore to Ft. Lauderdale, FL and flying back on Xmas eve. I have some questions though...

I've never been to FTL. Is it always fun and games down there? Will there still be stuff going on?

Secondly, I've never been in an airport on Xmas eve, and never been in FLL ever. Experiences? Suggestions?

Thanks guys, I appreciate your help!

BTW, I just got done seeing the Tamiflu rep in my office....Florida and Hawaii are being hit very hard with the Flu currently....FTL/Miami are rated as high flu activity on flustar.com. I hope you got your shot this year.

Thanks for letting me know. I didn't actually, and now I hate to get it this late because it always gives me a cold. Flying with a cold is ASS!

Yeah, it's kind of like driving through Tennessee on I-40....you think the state will never end.

Anyway, if/when I take my next vacation, I'm seriously considering the Keys.

I'm going to drive most of the way on Friday, then probably stop in Atlanta or something like that (another city I haven't visited). I will start on Saturday morning and drive the rest of the way to Ft. Lauderdale. I hope the weather is good, I guess we'll see.

I'm staying at the Extended Stay America, the address is SW 15th St in Pompano Beach. Should I bring protection with me? lol

Look for the giant peach that looks like a big butt on the side of the interstate after you get into SC. (Near Spartanburg, IIRC)

Great to know... I will just be alert at night when I'm out.

I want to check out south beach, miami, and of course fort lauderdale while I'm there. Anything I should put at the top of the list as a first-time tourist/visitor to the area?
