My back window is not tinted anymore because I removed it like last year and I decided to get it redone so I went out to find the cheapest price. Note that my tint is mirror tint and the guy that did my brother's tint on his honda civic gave me a deal. He wanted to tint all 4 of my windows for 120.00 But not the mirror tint, but with the normal black tint. if I wanted to get the back window done with my mirror it would be 70.00 because mirror tint is higher and illegal. I was debating once about getting all 4 done with the normal tint, but since I had the mirror on my car for a long time, I got used it. Plus on my other windows, the tint is starting to peel off and the guy stated that its making my car looks old. So what do you think guys. I am not paying for this to be done because this is a gift from my brother. Do you guys know anyone else that is cheaper??

I went to another fellow that I knew and he said that he would charge 250.00 to remove the current tint and place it with the normal dark tint and 350.00 if I wanted the mirror tint to be replaced all over. The funny thing is, he didn't mention my tint was illegal like the first fellow did. I keep having people asked me have I been pulled over yet for my current tint lol. So far so good...knock on wood!

of course, the "illegal" part doesn't seem to bother you a bit, does it?

and if all you want is "cheap", you're probably going to get another crap job like you have now. the lowest bidder isn't always the best quality job, usually it's the worst.

A: You're going for illegal, so (not so) good luck.
B: You're going for the cheapest - (not so) good luck with your car.
C: I had all 4 side windows and rear window down for 180, with the legal % tint. That's a decent price for Jacksonville, not the cheapest but not rape-age either and it is covered as long as I own the vehicle totally within the Continental U.S.

Don't be a cheap bastard, just to have a car that has tint with 50 million bubbles and purple colored tint in a year. If you can't do it yourself, make sure who you go through will cover it for the lifetime you own the vehicle and that the tint is worthwhile.

let me get this straight with you! When I got the car off the dealership lot, it was already mirror tint. Second of all if this tint is so damn illegal, why in the hell I almost had this car for 3 years passing by cops every single day and never had been pulled over or stop???

I figure I wanted to keep the tint because it looked good on silver but decided to go with the normal tint instead. I was just asking for an opinion not a smart ass remark!

This guy is good trust me. I saw what he did to my brother's civic. I rather go with him then pay the other guy 250.00 just to remove the current tint and put the normal tint on there. I am not trying to go with the cheapest person in the world like someone off the street. I am trying to get a reasonable price so I am asking around before making a final decision that is all.

just get normal black tint, not because it's cheaper but because it looks better. and i think there is still some % of mirror tint that may still be legal. i think when it's so mirror that you can't see inside, is when it's illegal.

I swear I'm glad cops in Austin aren't weird about tint. My tint is currently double layer 1 of 20%, 1 of 10% so it came out to 5% all around which is basically limo. I drive by cops and sit next to them daily and haven't had anything other than compliments from them lol. I agree I wouldn't go mirror but that's b/c I think the 6 is too classy for mirror as I find mirror tint on ghetto old beaters or rice boxes here in Austin.

I wasn't a big fan of mirror tint when other people had it. My car came with the tint already so I just kept it on until I removed the back window due to the bubbling. The cops don't bother me either. But since my brother offer to go ahead and pay for it with all the windows, who would turn a deal down like that. Once it is done, I may post pictures of it.
