Morons are morons; the mode of transportation matters little.

I was coming into work yesterday morning on a one way street crossing the main north south street in Indy. As I approach the intersection, a moron on a bicycle zooms across the road right in front me (against the light). I slam the brakes and barely miss hitting him. He turns back to look at me and gives me a dirty look.

I was driving home from work last night on the interstate. A moron in a minivan coming on to the interstate dives across 3 lanes of traffic without any regard to the cars already in those lanes. The moron then settles down to about 58 mph in the far left lane.

What is the logic behind that? Heh, that means someone could actually be punished for riding their bicycle on the sidewalk?

Yep. Exactly.

Most places they ignore it for kids everywhere and for adults in residential neighborhoods, but not for adults in busier (higher pedestrian) areas. And some smaller towns have no restrictions in place. But the larger cities I am familiar with are pretty much 'no sidewalk riding'. Sidewalks are for pedestrians.

Yes, and they will ticket you which will result in a warrant if you don't pay.
The thought is that you can hurt someone walking on the sidewalk seriously, which i have seen happen.
Cleveland Ohio is the nearest place that i recently heard of cracking down.

i live in boston, and i can definitively say, for every good, smart cyclist, there are 10 that will cut from one side of a 40 mph 2-3 lane road to the other. i have cyclists that will weave in front of me for no reason. they obey the rules so long as they dont impede the way that they want to ride. they run stop signs, run lights, cut in front of you, and then, when they get hit as a result, they think its your fault. Bikes take 5 feet to stop, my car take 100, its your job to come to a complete stop, just like me.

I must say i have had some good luck and shitty drivers to deal with when i was on my bike.
I was doing about 33mph on a 35 road, some dumb ass passes me, and make an immediate right, where i almost flipped over his car. The f$#@er tried to give me a dirty look like i was doing something wrong.

The last thing I want to have to worry about is some hothead behind me in a car who has it in for people on bicycles.[/b]

I do everything I can to make sure that i'm driving safely with bikers. I'm not against them I guess I should have gone further in to this but didn't want to write a freaking novel. I have no problem stopping to allow a bike rider to cross a busy street (at a crosswalk) or giving him right of way and sucking it up (if there is no safe area for him to ride other than in front of me.) My problem is the fact that, in this area, bikers feel that they own the road more than share it. I have been behind bikers who ride in the middle of the road, not just the middle of the lane. Riders don't signal when turning and will ride between cars at lights. They run through red lights and stop signs. I have no problem with safe bike riders, hell i'm even a little envious of the commuters. There is one patch of my drive in to work that just illuminates how retarded bikers can be and it infuriates me.
