okie i admit i'm a DDR dork... i got into it about 6 months ago when my lil cousin made me play with her.. it was a japanese edition of the disney DDR, but i noticed there was a little calorie counter... i thought hey that's pretty cool... i can burn off calories with this... well my husband finally got me my own game 5 months later (he finally agreed to let me play his PS2, i think so i'd stop playing with his gameboy :laugh) anyways i'm hooked, i'm even debating the thought of buying a metal pad because i can't stand the sopft one that keeps slipping everywhere... i'm also looking for the earlier PSone games... but one thing that i'm finding is how big DDR really became.. i mean i've seen kids play in the arcade and they're REALLY good... but i just never realized how big it is now...
anyone else here into DDR? |

I played a similar game at Dave and Busters when my company decided hold it's Christmas party there.
I had downed a couple beers and Tequila. I played against an office worker that was almost twice my age who played in high heels. -SC3

I love DDR, but I can't play it anymore. We just got a big screen, and the angle of me standing in front of it makes the screen look so dark, I can't see the damn arrows. All the other TV's are in rooms with inadequate floor space for the pad:(
I guess I will just have to go to the arcade and make a fool out of myself in front of all the youngins! |

It seems cool - never tried it. My 13 left feet are a deciding factor :(

I've played it a little... though i can only survive on songs that last less than 2 mins long and with speeds of less than 3 feet symbols...
the funny thing is that when i go to Toronto for a weekend trip or something, i walk by these arcdes in the Asian malls and i see these kids who have got to be no more than 10 years old jamming away on these machines. They even have coreography for each song. it makes it look like an art. it's amazing. Bad thing is that while i was still in College, the Gaming Club aka Hardcore Video Gamers had a DDR tournament. It attracted some not so thin and not so hygenic people. The winner of the tournament was a guy who did not know about the invention of soap and was sweating like a pig (it looked like a waterfall coming out of his head). Let me tell you... the crowd started thinning out quickly after the smell hit us... I didnt stay around too long after that but i just heard he won... :P |
