So, am I the only one who thinks the glass on the Mazda6 seems to be a pain in the ass to clean?

Yah, I know the golden rule to not use fabric softener on my car cleaning items. And yah, I know about the fumes from interior components causing the glass to fog in just a couple of days, but I'm talking about overall, trying to remove smears and smudges cleaning that just seems to be a pain. I'm using the same glass cleaner and the same towels I've used for years and it just seems like this car is a pain....

you may try 0000 steel wool, and clean your glass when it feels cool to the touch to prevent streaks. DON'T USE on aftermarket tinted glass it will scratch. I use Turtle Wax Clear View with a microfibre cloth

You might try Invisible Glass, it seems to be much better at streak-free windows. I have a 96 Camaro with that huge honkin' back glass that you have to lay on your back in the rear compartment to clean the inside of, that stuff has made it streak free so far. And compared to the Camaro the Mazda's glass is easier to clean and streaks less.

+1

Its the best I've used so far. It doesn't get the fog as fast, and I don't see any streaks when it does. The towel/rag is just as important. I use a wallyworld microfiber towel for glass that I used on Plexiglas aircraft windscreens. Only newspaper is better.

Tried it. It was worse than the Moonshine brand I've been using for 15 years.

Uh, no thanks on steel wool...... Besides, if the outside is that dirty, Bon Ami removes all grime, film, build-up, etc.

It's just odd. I never had the issues with smears and streaks on my past Integra or Mustangs.

I agree 100% with you Karl. The windshield in my Speed is horrible to get clean and keep clean. It is always streaky or has some smudge that doesn't want to come off. I tried Invisible glass and I also agree it was the worst glass cleaning product I ever tried. I found the latest Windex for autos to work really good. I don't use Microfiber towels on the windows because they seem to make the problem worse. I use several paper towels or newspaper if I have some. The newspaper works the best honestly. A guy I used to know that cleaned office windows told me about the newspaper thing. It works awesome on your mirrors around the house too. Ball it up a sheet and start wiping.

I endorse the Stoners Invisible Glass product too. I use it on all our cars and there's none better. I have no probelm getting my glass crystal clear with this stuff. I also use Rain-X on the outside and the Silicone window cleaner for tinted windows on the inside of my glass.

I also like the Invisible Glass. Windex seams to leave streaks on the inside at times. I also use paper towels.
