Hey, Everyone!

I was wondering that when you detail a car yourselves, what kind of tire shine do you use? Here in Atlanta, we have car washes/detailers all over the place that charge around $20.00 for full exterior wash plus vaccuumed interior. However, the tire shine they use, the shine tends to disappear after only a day or two. Ever notice how when you purchase a new car and the dealership washes the car before you take ownership, the tire shine is immaculate and lasts a good bit longer? Looking to find a longer lasting shine. What do you guys recommend?

As much as people on here hate Armor all, their gel tire shiner is awesome! I've used shine from eagle one, lasted a day or so, never bought it again. However, eagle's tire/rim foam spray cleaner is the best I've tested. You can really see the dirt come off your tires.

I've also been using Black Magic tire gel.
The shine will last a long time even with driving in the rain.
Also it don't spin off a lot.

Anyone have the problem of the stuff splattering all over the sides of the car when you drive it? My dealer is nice enough to wash the car when I bring it in for anything and they used to put tire shine on as well, but by the time I got home the stuff was all down the sides of the car and I ended up washing it all over again. I don't know what they used, neither did the guys washing the cars but they were nice enough not to use it on my tires anymore.

i use Black Magic Tire Shine spray, not the gel. works great for me and the shine certainly lasts.

^ they must have used a spray and just soaked each tire with it, more than the recommended number of sprays it tells ya to use. that's my guess anyway.

they put it on with an applicator that looks sorta like a paintbrush handle with a rag tied to the end of it, not a spray. Dealer buys the stuff in bulk, no brand name on the containers.

I use a towel to apply it. I spray some on the towel and then wipe the tire down. Doesn't spray off if you let it sit for more than 15 minutes.

Thanks for the help guys. Looks like a tire gel and then let it sit for awhile to avoid splattering all over the side of the car.
