Back around April I was new car shopping at my local Honda dealer, I usually buy Hondas and have had zero issues with the 10 or so that I have owned.
However I really preferred a wagon for hauling the kids sport equipment around. I also wanted a V6 as I wanted some easy power and was getting bored with 4 cylinders. Next to the Honda dealership was a Mazda dealership so I went to check out the 6 wagon, I loved the look, sporty (for a wagon) and a nice interior, it also had a better warranty and the best part was they had about 5 2006 leftover models still on the lot and were taking 7K off the sticker price of 25K. So i worked a deal with the manager for a 2006 wagon automatic base model added a few options (iPod interface, rear view mirror with homelink and compass and fabric protection for $18,000 even including all charges and destination fees except sales tax. I now have 10,000 miles on the car and it has been fine, my only complaints is that I find the auto transmission can sometimes be a little jerky when you are slowing to a rolling stop then accelerate again. The other thing I would tell others is not to bother with the iPod interface the sound quality if fine, but the usability/menu access is horrible. I hope the 6 treats me as well as my previous Hondas, only time will tell. This is a great forum and its nice to have so much info available. |
