Earlier this week google news turned up a roadmap . . . they said the M6s had more than ample speed with the V6 and there was no need for a MS6

They forgot to add a transmission in the V6. I've looked at the schematics of the innards of what's in there and the best I can tell it's some sort of device for making fruit juice

Anyhoo . . . looks like engine-swap is going to be *MY* target (12k miles down, 58k to go . . .).

It probably wouldn't be worth the cash (over just taking the MZI V6) but I'm guessing the EcoBoost V6 from the 2010 Taurus SHO might be a fit. That 2.2 TDI is pretty tempting too

Oh well . . . I can't say I'm surprised. Sedan's can't have a M/T with a big engine in the US and all high-horsepower M/Ts have to be RWD

Not trolling --- someone prove me wrong, I beg you!

nope no proving you wrong, it's been pretty much established that there will not be a new MS6 in the near future. All we get is the FWD counterpart.

No, he meant the 6GT s.

For the SHO I was talking about an engine swap :/

V6? I wish, there isn't even a variant like that here in Europe. The "top of the line"- model is the NA 2.5l model, which is lightyears from the Mazda 6 MPS. I'm very unhappy if this thing doesn't emerge, all we are left with are basic (boring) models :/

People who get Deisel engines in their market are NOT ALLOWED to complain about engine choices! :P

I'd give anything to see a return of the Speed. Never too much power!

At this point, they'd have to go completely 180 on the American-market-esque lineup to get a MT in the V6 . . . and that's about as close to an MS6 as we'll ever get.

Rats, was hoping I would find that they were planning a Speed6 variant. Obviously, the enthusiasts are out there.
