i honestly don't watch World Challenge anymore, so i don't know the specifics. but since Speed sucks at airing them, this year they cut it back to a 30min broadcast, i never get to see them....though i am watching it tomorrow for the Laguna Seca race. I know TriPoint ran one of their 3's there, but i thought it was only one, not sure if someone else ran them.
got kinda bored with it being all Mazda and Acura though...kinda like 2 spec classes being run together, started getting less than exciting when you have a mfr title in the air....and 13 of 19 cars are 2 makes. my builder was in the last race, running his Focus, and the WC website didn't even list him as an entrant, though they have him on the results. Just seems like it's phasing out and the less coverage it gets and the less updated the site is makes it happen even quicker.

They had the Gillis Motorsport Focus listed under Touring Car 2 (results), a new class that they're trying to get off the ground which has low entry costs but no winnings. There were significantly more entrants (or at least more varied) for the Laguna Seca event than any other event during the course of the year for World Challenge, which is sad because there were still only 18 entrants.
The fact of the matter is that it costs a LOT of money to race competitively. The diversity has dramatically decreased over the last couple years because only factory-backed teams (or those with shit tons of money to burn through) will stick around, and even then plenty of companies can't justify the cost. Most private ventures have vanished at any level of racing. Adding to it is the phenomenon of stupidity that is NASCAR, which has a stranglehold on racing broadcasts regardless of the channel, and shit goes south for the much more engaging and exciting forms of racing.
