It's alot neater looking than that stupid ass looking Toyota Yaris.

I'd consider buying one as a commuter car if I had a long drive to work.

Ford MAY have a say in this, but I doubt it.

As for the Mazda3... Sorry, wrong class of vehicle. Toyota has both the Corolla and Yaris. For Honda, it's the Civic and Fit, and it's the Sentra and Versa for Nissan. Why can't Mazda sell both the Mazda2 and Mazda3, especially when the Mazda3 is expected to become slightly larger with the upcoming re-design?

B class cars are the hot new thing, so I think we should definitely get the Mazda2 here in the US.

Mazda NA seems to think the 2 would take sales from the ever popular 3, and the price would not be significantly lower when brought up to US spec.

From what I've heard, you'll see a fuel efficient 3 diesel before you see a petrol firing 2.

I think if Mazda could be the leader in 45+MPG diesel cars, they could set a trend. I know VW has been doing it for years, but VWs aren't built as well as Mazdas.

I could see the base model 3i suffering in sales when one could get a somewhat loaded 2 for the same price.

However, Civic sales aren't suffering because of the Fit in the Honda lineup.

I don't think (speaking from Italy) that mazda3 sales would suffer much because of mazda2, this is far smaller!!

I believe that the reason is the very low request of such kind cars in US (while in EU are the most sold)....or I'm in error?

Prices are 15,200 euros for m3 (base model 1.6 ) and 11,200 euros for mazda2 (base model 1.3).

Here mazda2 5 doors brochure.

p.s.: sorry for my english!
