I'm strictly a car guy but I do like the CX-7 a lot for what it is. Check out this guy's CX-7 on 20" hyperblacks...pictures look like crap but the ride is looking nice!

The guy who owns that particular CX-7 in the link above even said...

THEN WHY DO IT?!?!?

I like the CX-9 better because it's a V6. I drove the 7 at ZoomZoom Live and the turbo lag sucked. Unless there's a fix for that, I am pretty much not interested. The inside of the 7 is VERY nice for a mid $20k SUV though.

i drove a CX7 as a loaner car from mercedes benz, and i have to say that its pretty quick for a big car. i hate to admit, but the turbo lag is nothing compared to the throttle lag on my v6 mazda6. at least on the cx7 right when u step on the pedal it gets going immediately. on my 6, i have to wait a good 2-3 seconds before it slowly starts kicking in (which is very dangerous sometimes). POS no balls duratec

Seriously, if I'm going to deal with having an SUV, the CX-7 is just too small inside. I want something with real passenger and cargo room, hence the CX-9 would be my preference.

i've been trying to get my dad to look at one for when he trades in the sienna. I think it would be sweet if he got the Turbo in Black to offset my white speed. then get my mom in a mazdaspeed3 when the passat goes up for trade...that would be really sweet. we would all have the same engine, and the same make.

But what color would your mom's be? If you have white, and your dad black... what's left? You can't go grey for the lady. It just wouldn't work out metaphorically.... I mean, if you had grey, and they had B&W, maybe it would make sense...

In all seriousness, my wife loves them. I had one for a loaner from mazda with 47 miles, and I drove it for a couple of days as my car was being messed with. The turbo lag sucks, but if you have never driven a turbo car (i.e. my wife), then it's pretty cool. The inside isn't that small compared to other cross-overs (not SUVs but crossovers), and for the price, it's pretty competative with other similar makes. It's definately unique, and you have to drive the CX-7, but those that seem to like it really seem to love it. It seems like a woman's SUV to me.

Plus, if she buys one, then I have an excuse to put a speed6 motor in my car.... you know, to be the man of the house... =)
