I just read yesterday on MotorTrend.com that Mazda is putting the 2.5l turbo in the 2018 Mazda6.

2018 Mazda Mazda6 Reviews and Rating | Motor Trend

2018 MAZDA MAZDA6 MODEL OVERVIEW
Mazda is updating its midsize sedan again before giving it a full redesign in a couple years. The 2018 Mazda6 debuts with revised front styling and a new line-topping 2.5-liter turbo-four engine to directly challenge the Honda Accord 2.0T, Toyota Camry V-6, and other midsize sedans with upgraded engines. In the CX-9 crossover, Mazda’s turbocharged 2.5-liter engine is good for 227 hp (with regular gas) and 310 lb-ft, and we’re eager to find out what the automaker has planned for the 6 midsize sedan.

As with the CX-9, the updated 2018 Mazda6 will also offer a higher-trim model with premium interior materials that include Sen wood.

The 2018 Mazda6 will make available a package of active safety technologies and a surround-view multi-camera visibility system that can be helpful when parking.
