disclaimer: chances are i won't pull the trigger, with 3rd baby coming and all. but u know...... it doesn't hurt to dream
it all started out with my m6 wagon, which is a great car. it's also my first mazda. it really got me liking the mazda vehicles, especially the miata, which i started drooling over. Today I stumble upon one here. it's a 2010 miata g.t. with only 28k miles for $14.5k Miata MX-5 2010 G.T. Convt HardTop Manual 28k Miles so i did some more research on miata by typing "miata vs", google suggested boxter, which i thought was interesting. not that mazdas aren't good but u know... porsche and mazda don't usually appear in the same sentence . but it peaked my interest in boxters. I trolled the local craigstlist again and found a 2001 boxter s with 89k miles for $14kPORSCHE BOXTER S CABRIOLET so let's say u got the cash for one of them, which one would you go for and why? |

the miata. They're both women's cars and if you have to drive a woman's car at least make it the cheaper of the two to maintain and the significantly more reliable of the two.
: isclaimer:: No offence intended, I'm just a 6'3 300 lb guy and I hate having to drive those damn miatas in and out of the shop to work on them.

I'm sure the maintenance on the Porsche will be more expensive. The Miata is a nice color and from what I hear, they're more fun to drive. If you want more refinement, then the Porsche is probably the better option.

My vote was for the Porsche either way (LOVE those cars), but it seems that your Miata got taken down.

If youre thinking of getting a miata, get a mazdaspeed miata. Only available in 2004/2005 models though. The nice thing is they have exclusive colors though.

From the options presented in your post id go for the Miata. newer car, far less miles, thus being more reliable. Not saying that the Porsche isn't good, for a 2001 it has low miles, but i wouldn't spend 14 grand for a year 2001 car. Keep searching around for other cars, im sure you will find other vehicles that fit your needs and still within price range.

I myself love the N/A Miata with with flip up headlights. Looks like a mini FD3S. The roadsters have been really popular as of lately. The community in my town has seen a crazy increase in the number of miata owners, not to mention its always been a favorite among the Auto-x drivers. Put on some decent suspension on them and you'll have yourself a giant go-kart. Are you looking for a roadster specifically?
