Hi everyone. I'm new here. Just picked up an 06 S Sport Wagon MTX as a daily driver. The premium gas on my M35 is killing me on road trips, plus it's nice to have 3 pedals again
. I was actually reeeealllly close to getting either a Mazda3 or a P5 but this was too good of an offer to pass up. Plus, I have never seen a 6 wagon on the road which is a plus to me.It runs well, but have some work to do on it. Oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, coolant flush, power steering fluid change, brake job. Since I'll be getting an oil change and new spark plugs by default, only other thing I'll do right now is put Redline fluid in the tranny. If I couldn't DIY all this minor stuff, I would have never bought the car. All that added up with labor is probably another couple thousand or so. Afterwards, it definitely needs sound dampening, short shifter, HID retrofit, exhaust, new stereo, new antenna. I'll pass on the wheels and lowering springs for as long as I can. I just bought new Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus tires. Best tires I've ever had. Anyway, sorry for the novel. I'm going to read some how-tos. I have like 10 years of threads to catch up on lol. Feel free to volunteer any important links in reference to my laundry list of to-dos. Also, I work in Melbourne, FL under contract for now and spend my weekends either in Fort Lauderdale or Tampa if anyone is around any of those areas. |

Oh one more thing... do the wagons come with rear headrests? At one point I assumed no so that the seats could easily fold down, but I happened to notice the holes the other day while looking over my shoulder to reverse. The car I got didn't come with any rear head restraints.

How much do I need to order? I haven't seen a pdf Factory Service Manual for our cars anywhere like I've seen for Toyotas and Nissan/Infiniti. Last edited by sdotsdots; 01-29-2013 at 12:47 AM. |

No problem man. I ran Redline for a few years, and while it's a leap ahead of the Motorcraft fluid, Neo is the same leap above from the Redline, and the price is very close. Can pick it up from 75W90 HD Synthetic Gear Lube
I ordered a gallon when I did mine ~1.5 years ago just to have extra coz my car always takes closer to 3q even though its supposed to take 2.3q. Anyway, after draining just fill fill the trans till it starts coming out. There are DIY's all over the place if you need any help.
