I agree, the only car I ever bought a CAI for was my 08 GTI, and I sold it to someone else a month later.

I would consider new springs and sway bars to be a performance mod. I liked what my H&R bars did for my GTI.

Check out the isport mods thread in the 2nd gen section for ideas. Lots of good stuff that can be done to your car. Not all of it "performance" oriented either.
