Haven't even had it a month and I get hit. So sad. I was just sitting at a redlight and out of nowhere, I get bumped. Pics are coming soon.

I hit someone last week, they decided to stop on a 2 lane road because a bus put its blinker on to come back into its lane. I hit a boston skid plate(you know giant metal plate no traction to cover a hole), slid across it like i was drifting on the lake. No damage to anyone, just annoying. Then the kid stops in the middle of a 2 lane major road and gets out. I was like lets go over to the parking lot to not make a scene. First sign I need new tires LOL.

Damage is pretty minimal. Bumper has crack waves in it and popped out on the right side. I think that's the only thing that will need to be replaced. I HOPE so at least. I'm making them get OEM Mazda parts too. The trunk isn't misaligned or anything, so I think it should be fine. The truck that hit me was low, luckily.
Any of you happen to know if I'll be able to get compensated for diminished value? How does that work? No doubt, an accident will decrease the value of my car.. I JUST waxed it, steam cleaned the interior and got my effin license plate frame too. Don't even want to put the plate or frame on yet. Even though my plate won't be here until tomorrow. highly doubt there will be diminished value compensation but if you get the right lawyer you could be pleasantly surprised. Make sure you take it somewhere and have them check the exhaust and all rear suspension components, check the alignment, everything. They will have to pay for it so be overly anal. Stand there and watch them go over it with a fine toothed comb. This is the time to be a dick. It's the insurance company paying for it and that's why we pay every month to insure our vehicles. dont take no for an answer if it needs to be fixed and make sure EVERYTHING is addressed. Personally, i would take it to a body shop as well as the dealership to have it all looked it for cosmetic and mechanical damage. Best of luck man. Hope everything works out.

I'm going through the dealership for sure. I want the OEM parts and guarantee. My Mazda dealer has their own body shop, with MAZDA rental cars.. So I'll be able to stunt a 2012 6 for a few days
![]() I'll threaten to get a lawyer if they don't give me diminished value. I'm pretty good with words, as is mi madre. If I bring the car to progressive tomorrow, is it possible that they can appraise it tomorrow? I want it done. Curiousity is killing me. Sent from my iPhone using AG Free |

Yeah im sure if you call them and the dealership you could probably have the agent go right to the dealership for appraisal.
