Default 2006 Mazda 6 gearbox/shifter light bulb

I have a 2006 Mazda 6 and I do not know if it is a wiring problem or light bulb problem, but when I turn on my lights, the center console/shifter does not light up. Has anyone experience this before, and if so, please advice. Thanks in advance.

Be careful taking off the little rubber bulb condom thingy... mine were kind of melted on to the bulb and one started to break apart when I took it off. Also, moistening the new bulbs slightly will help you put those back on.
