Which mazda 6 to buy?

Hello, I am considering buying a mazda 6. The one I'm looking at right now is a 2004 6i, manual. Does the 4-cylinder have enough pop, or is it kinda sluggish? What do ya'll think about getting a 4 cylinder or a V6? I'd like the V6 for power,but not sure if I want to sacrifice the gas mileage. Also, to someone else who has a 2004 6i, is it tight when you put 4 guys in it, or is it roomy enough? Thanks for ya'll opinions. (Nicely, please. =) )

Also, the guy's asking $7400 for it. Is that about the normal price for a 2004 6i, 76k, good condition?

Sorry your first thread got out of hand. Idiots tend to make that happen.

I don't know what "enough pop" is for you, so that is something you need to find out by test driving the car you're interested in. You can also squeeze out decent mileage for both but obviously you'd have to be more careful with your right foot if you chose the v6 versus the I4. As far as leg room is concerned, bring your friends with you on the test drive. You're talking about subjective things that may hold true for someone here but not for you. I've had 4 people in my car and no one had any complaints, but if that is because they were comfortable or they knew I'd throw them out of the car, I don't know. Btw, there are no differences in the interior space regardless of the year or engine.

$7400 is reasonable, yes. But whatever you do, drive it first.

I higly suggest the V6 model, sooner than later you'll regret getting the 4 cyl and want to change it for the V6
V6 auto gives you power when you want it and comfy style when you feel relaxed

Of course I am also now sold on station wagons for the versatility of it. It can be a sport car when i feel like it, a soft daily driver when with the family and as handy as a pick up truck when doing renovations! really the best of all worlds!

I don't believe the price you got is the deal of the year...especially for a 4cyl, you can find 6s for that price

The best advice I can give you is to go out and drive both a V6 and an 4cyl. Im sure there is a carmax or something local that will have both on the lot that could be test driven. Personally I prefer the V6, but in MTX. If you are worried about mpg, the V6 atx probably wont be your cup of tea as most average around 23-24mpg. The mtx will net you a couple of extra mpg, plus be a little lighter over the front wheels.
