I've got a few month old head unit from my old car that I want to put in my 2005 Mazda6. It's a basic Pioneer. I'll probably just take it to Best Buy because I don't know how to do it myself and I don't have the time.

I'm wondering how the console looks with a new head unit installed into it. I can't really figure out how it's going to work. Can someone post picture or something? Is it worth it? I want it for two reasons: MP3 capability and easy AUX input.

Thanks guys!

It can only be done with the Metra Kit just type in Metra Kit mazda 6 on ebay, crutchfield carries them too, not sure about Best Buy. Bad news is the kit costs anywhere between $100-$180 but you can get it from Crutchfield for 80 bucks if you buy a new head unit from them. I like it, did all the work myself it can be a pain in the arse but I like doing that kind of work.

i got mine from napa auto parts, your local automotive dealer should be able to get these, installation is quit simple, a little difficult if you have the bose system (bose system has stock amp) so you gotta work with that, but other than that its simple... i put in a panasonic cqc5305u head unit, 2 twelve kickers hooked up to 1000W alpine amp and i love it... other than having to dynomat pretty much the whole car lol.. its not that hard to do... time consuming
