in short it is the distance from the center of the wheel to the plane where the wheel meets the hub.

you need to find wheels in the area of +45 to fit

I think that you would need an anti-spacer.

the spacer would move the wheel in the wrong direction, say if you added a 10 mm spacer, you would effectively make that wheel a +20 offset, moving the wheel further away
