so i was thinking about how the 6i mtx usually cant take all that much power and it there seam to be any high performance transmission rebuild for it. this is the only thing thats keeping me from buying the turbo kit. so i was thinking about if it would be possible to swap the 6 speed mtx into one of the first generation cars.... could it be stronger? just a thought.

oh and i just ordered TWM's short shifter bracket. i'v had the short shifter on for a while and and i just received an Email from TWM about the upgrade. so when it comes in i'll everone know how it goes. i haven't seen any write ups on it as of yet so im guessing no one has gotten their hands on it.

i can guarantee you that building the existing tranny will be cheaper than any swap you might be thinking about. if you don't think there are upgrades for it, you really haven't done much looking.

what exactly are you looking for in a "kit"? the only thing that has ever gone out on the tranny is 3rd gear, and there are full gear sets available currenlty. not sure if it's on their site, but Quaiffe can do the LSD as well now, not sure if Torsen ever jumped on it?

only issue i've heard is the actual gear, which can lead to other problems if you keep driving the car obviously, but the issue is the gear. there's 2 companies in the states that have done them and one the HiBoost uses, but i can't remember where they were.

well im on the fence here.i could get the money by the end of summer (im still in highschool and im payin off my car with my part time job) and everyone loves my 6 and to be turboed would make it perfect... then again i have a roller cam 5.0 mustang gt motor with 20k miles on it, a posi rearend, and a t5 5 speed transmission, all i need is a rolling body like a fox body mustang or thunderbird that i can easily pick up for about 1000 dollars. both are very tempting but i could get that mustang faster cheaper with more potential for cheaper and still have my 6 as my reliable, daily driver....
