Hi,
I've got an 04 6S (technically an 03, but here in Canada, they named it an 04). The clutch will sometimes make a popping sound when I press it. It happens more in hot weather. I've talked to my mechanic and we both think that there is air in the clutch cylinder. Other than feeling the pop as I press the clutch in, everything feels fine. It really does feel like the piston is pushing some air out right before it moves when I press the clutch. Anyone else have this issue? If it is air in the clutch cylinder, how would that have happened? My mechanic told me to just drive it as is since everything else seems to be fine. If I did have to change the cylinder, how costly would that be? Thanks

My 03 6i had a similar thing going on (just posted my fix). Mine turned out to be just a dirty clutch fork / input shaft. I sprayed some brake cleaner in through the clutch fork hole (removed the boot) and it works great now, no odd creak / popping. Easy to do, might want to give it a shot.
