Im about to lease a Mazda 6 I sport.
are these numbers that the dealer is giving me a good price? 2000 down, 204 a month for 36 months. (it would have been 3000 down for 204 a month but my mazda loyalty gave me a discount of 1000 making it 2000 down) there are no big options on this car ... i think its just pretty base |

I'm not a fan of leasing.
It's like financing at 100% interest. My car has and will continue to depreciate horribly but at least when it's all said and done I will have something to show for it. |

also, depending on the year of the 6i you're looking at, it should only be around $10K. i say BUY IT.

I really don't know why people actually lease a car. I could see why a business would want to. But why would you want to pay all that money to give it back and hopefully you are under the allowed miles, plus you can't do a single thing to it unless you put it back to the way it was when you get it. Then they do a full inspection and if it shows more wear and tear than normal you have to pay for it. I asked my dad before i got my mazda which one is better and he said "only idiots lease". That was me putting it a nicer way than what he said. So in my opinion i would say if you really want it then buy it if not don't even bother with leasing, find a car that you would like to keep and buy it..

I am not a fan of leasing either though we did briefly consider it for a 2nd work-commute-only car. (so own 1, lease 1) The insurance requirements steered us away though. If you are going to ditch your ride every 3 years (and many people do) or your credit isn't quite good enough to get a car loan (or at least get one below the 20% interest some predatory dealers offer with in-house financing), then leasing might appeal to you.
