Hey, I have a 2004 Mazda 6 and it works great. The only issue is that every time I turn on the heat or air, the smell that comes out of the vents smells similiar to a wet dog. I have never had a dog in my car, I have changed the air filter and that did not do anything. Has anyone else had an issue with this or know what I should look at next to try and fix it. It only smells on the damp rainy days, sunny days it has no issues.

This isn't a Mazda 6 specific answer,
But a way to clean out musty AC vents is to... 1) Get disinfecting air sanitizer (Lysol, Ozium, etc...) 2) Turn air system on outside air vent with fan going full blast 3) Find the air intake (usually at the bottom of the windshield right below the wiper blades) 4) Mist the air sanitizer over the intake vent lightly until your car smells like whatever you're spraying in 5) Drive around for a while with the windows open and the air system on outside vent going full bore Helps keep your car smelling nice, especially in the spring or winter when you've only been using either heat or A/C forever |

Replace your cabin air filter.

The above instructions are OK, but remove the cabin filter before the sanitation, sanitizer will be retained
in the cabinfilter. when finished replace the filter. |
