Do you need to change the ECT sensor? The check engine light went on in my 118K mile '05 6i, and the code came back as a bad ECT sensor. Unlike some of the other posts I've read, my temp gauge is fine, the car runs the same as before the light went on. Why shouldn't I just ignore it since there is no discernible change in the car's performance. In NY, there might be an issue with inspection, but I just passed and now I have one year until the next one. I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks.
