Default Identification

hi all Melb 6 owners

i was wondering out we 6 enthusiast in Melbourne can distinguish each other on the road from the 'the 6 is a mode of transport' drivers?

Any suggestions/ideas?

i was thinking we might be able to put a small sticker of some sort on the car or license plate.

I've got "zoom-zoom" stickers on the back window of both of my cars. I guess anyone could put them on, but because I won't put anything on the paintwork, if we choose to identify ourselves, for me, it would have to go on the glass.

like you, i dont want to put anything on the paintwork also!

but i think the zoom-zoom stickers are a good idea, i mean, only enthusiasts would put zoom-zoom stickers on their cars anyway...right? So even if a 6 that didnt belong to these forums had the stickers, i gues it'd be alright, we're all apart of the 'one big happy 6 family' anyway!

So fenton, where do we find these stickers, and how much are they?

How about get some kinda zoom-zoom license plate holders made up... I need slimline ones though :P

Maybe something like:
|==================
| www.mazda6club.com
|==================
| V |
| I | A B C 1 2 3
| C |
|==================
| zoom - zoom
|==================

... ok I could do a better rendition in paint, but ascii art will have to do for now :P

that could be an idea, and not a bad ASCII job there!

but what do u think will be easier to identify through? the sticker or the license plate holder? and how do u think we can get the holders made?

heh the forum munches ascii properly, it's all not-in-line

dunno where to get them made up, but there must be somewhere cheap-ish, because one of the people at work here has plate holders saying 'dalmation club of victoria' ... if I had to make a guess, $5-10 each minimum 100?? Dunno...

the sticker would probably be easier to identify, but I have tinted windows, and wouldn't put a sticker on (neither would I put it on the paint either...)

unless we could get something which is held up by static kinda like the 'p' plates (that don't have suction cups)

they were talking about using vinyl stickers, and they mentioned that it was tremendously easy to remove.

I was thinking we might stick the sticker on the wind screen, somewhere discreet, maybe like driver's side corner, so that oncoming 6's can see and idenify. I personally dont think that putting the sticker on the side-triangle window is all effective, because not many drivers can see unless you're stopped at a traffic light .etc. comments?

the zoom-zoom stickers are available from your friendly local Mazda dealer, and were available at the Melbourne Motor Show (that's where I got mine). There was a range of colours, and I think 3 sizes. I got the smallest size (about 1.5cm tall) in blue, and they were a $1.00 each.
