Thumbs down Whoever designed the Mazda6 HID headlights...

can go choke on a donkey.

What a waste of two hours of my life, just to change bulbs. Didn't help it was cold and dark out, too.

Cold & dark certainly wouldnt help. It is rather dumb how much of a task it is just to change headlights out.

Question for the 1st gens, do you change the bulbs through the wheel well? The 2nd gens have to do that in order to get any access. I miss the days when you could do it from the engine bay. So much easier.

Except for the HID's which are in the wheel wells/fenders. I have big hands, so I couldn't really make the bend.

^^ +5 on design fail. No if only they'd stopped at the head light! lol
It didn't have to be that way! Same with adjusting it. Left side, doable without apron removal. Right side, no chance. And finding a tool has not happened as of this writing.

RE: Replacing the bulbs-

Takes five minutes to pull the bumper, two more to have the lights off the car entirely. Then you have plenty of room, can give em a quick cleaning & be all put back together in under an hour with no cussing involved.

Not saying it's right, but it ain't two hours of hell & misery...

FWIW, I did the old santa fe lights just the other weekend- five minutes from putting the beverage down to back in hand again & admiring the results....
