After my buddy had been having the following symptoms, we swapped out his second OEM PMM today:
Replaced it with Anchor 9182, which is dirt cheap on RockAuto, and has worked well with others. The car now feels amazing, and all the symptoms are gone. These OEM mounts are shit, this one had ~10k miles on it. Failure video: Mazdaspeed 6 Passenger Motor Mount Failure - YouTube

Yes, they are certainly not built for longevity. They are the same as the MZ6 mount, correct? I wonder if the added weight on the nose of the MS6 causes accelerated wear. Did the car you worked on have aftermarket mounts at the trans or RMM?
I had the original PMM replaced under warranty at like 25K miles; one of the jobs Mike Ernest/Mike Rhea did for me when they were at Town North. |

I just ordered one of the Anchor mounts from RockAuto as well. Hopefully that will clean up my sloppy shift feel as it did for your friend's car.

I believe the 6/ms6 use all the same mounts.
The car had upgraded RMM and a replaced OEM Trans mount

I'm sure the added stiffness pushed more stress on the weaker mounts too..

I belive that may also be the case; Modifying one or more of the other mounts may stress the OE PMM.

I agree, but the fact remains that these mounts should be for a stronger car - 6 vs ms6

Is the NVH the same between the OE Mazda PMM and comperable aftermarket substitues, like the one from RA?

Yepp, it doesn't add any NVH. I can't do the AWR vibs, so I chose this

Haha!! I understand. Vibration and added noise gets pretty intense with AWR PMM.
