Cool K04 Question....Someone thinks he can make 400 wheel with his.

I posted about a buddy of mine with a 2013 Mazdaspeed 3 that claims his K04 can produce 400 wheel. I called a tuning buddy who told me that the newer K04's are actually better built than the ones on the speed6, but he said he had never heard of anyone EVER getting close to 400 on that.

THAT BEING SAID.........I want to explain to my friend (with facts) what the K04 can do. Even with bolt-ons what is the best a K04 can produce? I want to say that I've seen some of you around 300ish at the wheels and 330ish on E85. Would that be a fair estimate?

Cheers

Yes that's fair but still tough. Next time your friend makes some outlandish claims like that slap him in the face and call him an idiot, 400 is out of the question on k04.

The only difference between "older" and "newer" ko4's is that they have somewhat fixed the smoking turbo issue when the turbo seals tend to leak oil.

The OP did post this on MSF.

The only way you could do this is to bore out the pistons and run 2 K04's on NOS with appropriate Toon.

But seriously, I think it can be done; I just think the car wont like it at all. Super agressive timing with a shit tone of ice cold air and meth and NOS but the motor wouldn't run long.
