Thumbs up Just changed my Tranny, Xfer and Diff Fluids!!

My car has 50,500 miles which I recently bought. It is an 06 GT.
I changed all my fluids to amsoil fluids per the sticky.

I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who hasn't done this. It made a night and day difference in the smoothness of shifting. Even toggling around in neutral was smooth like butter. In addition I changed/flushed the coolant with Mazda F22. Very expensive...spent $90.00 on coolant and 5$ for all the crush washers. The oil cost about $100 and the amsoil hand pump was $12 about

Im gona take it easy for the first 1000 miles but just wanted to share my experience, esspecialy with all these new owners popping up..

-Joe

Thanks for the post joe, I've been looking at swapping all fluids too. What are your mods?

Good job
the Speed6's are getting along in years, and this type of maintenance is important!

Might want to consider the brake fluid as well- if it hasn't been flushed yet then it's due- it will have aged out quite some time ago

This brings to mind a favorite quote of mine:

"My wife is pretty understanding. She knows when you come home smelling like gear oil it's bad, but not like hookers and crack bad." ~ Jay Leno

Good job getting that out of the way. I have that job on my checklist and it is not something that I am thrilled about.

I did this at ~25K miles. Looking to do it again around 65K, or in about 7K miles.
What made you decide to do coolant?

Engine coolant
FL22 type Replace at first 192,000 km (120,000 miles) or 10 years ; after that, every 96,000 km (60,000 miles) or 5 years
Others Replace at first 96,000 km (60,000 miles) or 4 years ; after that, every 2 years

And while I'm at it-

If the vehicle is operated under any of the following conditions, change the rear differential oil every 45,000km {28,100 miles}
a) Driving in dusty, sandy or wet condition
b) Extended periods of idling or low speed operation
c) Repeated short trips of less than 16 km {10 miles}

My coolant wasn't the color of F22. So I decided a complete flush would be safest. 2006 will accept f22 coolant so long as is flushed

Only mod is 2nd cat delete with 3" piping throughout to a single outlet. It is CPe made
Looking at short ram as previous owner had one and shot up all the clamps on stock intake...

brakes and steering r next

Getting it all flushed just makes me feel clean, whether it was due or not. I bought it not long ago and who know how many time those gears were grinded up and throwing metal shaving and what not around!
