Hey guys. Has anyone tried to put up video from their iphone/ipod on their navi screen? I know the rpm store has the AVElectronic Navigation Video Interface for Mazda AVElectronic Navigation Video Interface for Mazda - Revolution Performance Motorsports! and I know you can buy a cable that simply plugs into the connector and comes out with a RCA cables... I'm just thinking when I put in my xcarlink I might as well throw one of those in, that way on road trips, rent a movie from itunes and watch it on the screen

Thoughts? Solutions? Anyone else done this?

i have

you have to splice some wires to make work, and if you want to play movies when you are moving then you will need to add a switch also i have the Xcarlink.

That's great! That's not the AVelectronics off therpmstore is it? What did you hafta splice and how'd you know how to do it? I can't find any write ups or anything. I'd assume the AVelectronics one would be pretty straight forward.

I love the idea of renting movies for road trips on the phone

id be interested in hearing more details about this too. I use the Auxmod for my iphone, but integrating the video would be be sweet as hell

yes its from therpmstore. you have to splice the nav wires. its 4 wires that need to be cut-the instructions were not that great and the rep from Avelectronics werent that helpful either, luckly i have the wiring book from mazda so that helped a bit. i'll took a pic before but you cant really distinguish the wire colors from the pics. i'll pm some pics when i have time. to take the console apart.

but want to make sure that i can hook up all this without buying the factory navigation i like the way the garmin works along with the gxm30 xm antenna. I know the avelectronic hooks up using 4 wires but does it only work with the stock nav or will it work with other units if you take a look at the nav screen picture it has a spot for the nav system hook up but i dont know if you have to use this to make all this work anybody that can help me out . thank you

Can I haz your wiring, too?

I've been thinking about doing this mod and somehow wiring in a TV tuner of some sorts. What about the sounds? I assume it comes out through the factory speakers?

i wanted to get the axxess adpater to have two audio inputs or one video and 1 ipod input this will get the sound to the speakers
