Normally when I down shift, I usually just do a single clutch rev match. I find that many people double clutch, but I was under the impression that modern cars with manual transmissions have synchros that make the use of double clutching obsolete. And I also find it a little excessive in every day use. Others say that they never rev match and throw the car into a lower gear when needed. As far as heel and toeing, I know how helpful it can be on a track, but does anyone really use it on the street. I typically just shift into neutral. What are your thoughts?

I single clutch rev match. I was also under the impression that double clutching on modern cars is no longer necessary. I can't heel toe this car. I do however always stay in gear in case I need to be able to move.

When coming to a light, I just leave it in neutral. If I need to go it doesn't take long to rev match and throw it in a gear and go... When I'm playing around I'll heal tow, but only when nobody is around in case I screw up, if I'm hitting turns on the street hard, I'll over brake and enter the turn slow then accelerate through. Only played with actual trail braking on the bike, don't trust my car enough on the street.

Down shifting at lights is the perfect time to practice heel tow. I do it at all lights without even thinking about it now. Helps alot with auto-x and rev matching.

this car is not making it easy for me to practice heal-toe.. I still suck at it and only do it when no one's around and coming up to a light or something.

Most of the time I rev-match - whether going up or down. Single clutch - never doubled it up. Don't see a reason for it.

My second gear isn't feeling all too hot lately so I try to rev-match it as good as I can..

and second gear on my bike is a bitch too.. wtf is up with these 2nd gears, dammit??!!!!

I agree with this, I've been heel toe downshifting since the days with my KLZE MX-6 (miss that car), it took a little time to get used to the crappy clutch characteristics of the MS6. But like they say...practice does make perfect. =D
