************************************************** ***UPDATE***************************************** ******

Well its late today, but its still today. They didnt have a major update for me. The only thing he did say was that they have been way more busy than usual this year so he's not sure about the progress of the springs. But on the bright side, they have a meeting this thursday (tomorrow) where he will bring up the topic of the mazda6 springs. So by friday i will probly have a real ETA and some details for you guys since i will be calling him then. Post up any comments, questions or concerns you would like me to ask/relay to him in my conversation Friday and i will be sure to bring them up with him.

If they're doing a setup for the Speed 6 ('06) I am totally in. Add me to this list! It's about time to replace the shocks I've got, so this would be a great time. This may be answered elsewhere on the site, but I'm getting ready for work and don't have time to search before posting.

This would be my first suspension mod on a 6. Does lowering require a camber kit for these vehicles? If you can answer, great. If I should go search the site, let me know and I'll do that at a later time, but I just wanted to factor all the pricing together in for these springs/shocks/possible camber kit.

Thanks guys!

Latest update (a few days later than when it was posted on 6Crew, but oh well.

Quote:
************************************************** *******UPDATE************************************* *********************

As promised here is your friday update:
They are getting the parts in for the prototype next week and they will be beginning testing on it.
The current plan is to definitely do a kit for the first gen cars, but he said that if the variances were small they would do a second gen kit. He is looking into that now, but if anyone knows we could help him out and tell him about the differences between the two so he doesnt have to look.
They are also gonna be making custom camber plates for the 6 as well. That will be another good option for you guys.

And finally the answer to the question you've all been waiting for.. ETA:
End of April
I will make sure you guys that posted up recently get added to the list.

I'll be honest with you. I'm not a suspension expert. That being said, I don't think lowering necessarily requires a camber kit. As I understand it, a camber kit is completely optional. If you would like to have more control over the settings that you can do, then you can add a camber kit to do that.

I've seen a number of posts referring to a camber kit for the front since the factory doesn't allow for adjustment of the front. My only point of reference for this was when we lowered my buddy's Honda CRX and he was going through tires in 5k miles by wearing out the inside since with lowering they went from |---| to /---\ (awesome pic right?!?)

Just curious if any of the forum members that have lowered can support or refute my experience when it comes to the Speed6's.
