does anyone know how to open the key chain and change the battery???

i dont feel like breaking it and cant find information anywhere

If you have the same one I do, then look on the very bottom of the unit and you will see a small slot. Take the fob off of the keyring, put a quarter in that slot, and twist. The unit will pop open and from there you can replace the battery.

I couldn't figure it out either so I took it to a dealership. They have a 'special tool'. They opened it free of charge though.

My battery has died again however- I cannot recall what size battery they take- do you know?

You can get the manual on Mazda's website, where it has a diagram of how to open the fob.
