Bose installation help

Hi guys i have 03 mazda 6 with the stock sound system and was wondering how hard it is to install a bose radio/cd out of a mazda 6 sport 2007, is it possible with out to much hassle as my CD changer broke & my facia pannel isnt the best condition either. I can pick up Bose unit fairly cheap so if its just fit it up & away you go then great, will i need to run the amp under the seat too & if so will the loom already be their?
Thanx for your help

The car side of the harness already in the car is pinned to go to each speaker, not to an amp (obviously, because there is no amp in the car to begin with). So you would have to bypass the speaker leads in the harness, run them to the Bose amp, then from the Bose amp to the speakers (via the wires at the radio harness already). Dont be confused by the harness being the "same"; while the molex plug is still the same, where the wires go from there is different between Bose and non-Bose vehicles.

Probably not the most fun thing to do, it sounds like.

Check out this thread that explains the in's and out's of the Bose and non-Bose systems, as well as some aftermarket info.

Non-Bose, Bose, Metra, and You.

So I would say to ditch that idea and go to something aftermarket. Yeah, its going to cost a bit more than doing the Bose unit, but it is going to sound better and last alot longer.
