2004 Mazda 6s - Aux mod + Display replacement

Hi all,

This is my first thread on this forum - so please let me know if I am skipping over any established guidelines and such.

I have a 2004 Mazda 6s V6 with Bose 6-cd changer .

I wish to have Aux in (and Bluetooth). I'm aware of the AuxMod - is that the best product for this feature ? Or do other products such as those below work just as well/better?

AuxMOD alternatives :

Car Interface Adapter Aux in Input for Mazda 3 6 RX8 MX 5 Besturn B70 | eBay

USB Aux in Adapter Car MP3 Player Interface Fit Mazda 3 5 CX7 323 MX5 MPV Miata | eBay

I've considered the GROM option so I can have ipod, etc. but I'm not favoring it, as that requires the L716 mod on the '04

Thoughts?

Hey Piper welcome to the forums im also new here, installing a screen involves buying front panel from what my research has showed me, which costs about 150$ I gave up and just did the aux mod, i got this one just installed it yesterday New Car 3 5mm Aux Audio CD Interface Adapter Cable for Mazda 2 3 5 6 2006 2013 | eBay

I also got bluetooth dongle

for 17 bucks the only real difference between this and 180 dollar grom bluetooth kit is 160 dollars and no steering wheel controls which i dont really care about, the only reason I wanted a screen is for a backup cam, but i can live without it if installing it will cost me 400 bucks

Thanks for replying. Noticed you have a 2006 and you got the aux in working. Great stuff!

Did you do this yourself or involved a mechanic/garage?

I'm thinking of giving this a shot with the AuxMod as that is cheapest/easiest for my 2004 - but don't want to blow any fuse or have an airbag deploy or something - have read about disconnecting the battery -ve for a few minutes, etc. So, looking for some first hand experience on the matter. Anyone?

The Sylfex AuxMod is really the only plug and play aux in available for your radio. The others work with the 2006-2008 radios. You could always convert to one of those, with the newer model display that actually works...

Yes, the Auxmod should work just fine.

For the 2003-2005 Mazda6's, the Auxmod truly is your best option.
